The basic principle

Paraffin containing chlorhexidine was attached to the mesh gauze uniformly. Paraffin can prevent adhesion and promote wound healing, and will not adhere to the healing tissue; chlorhexidine has the antibacterial property, can prevent the wound from infection, relieve the infected wound.

Characteristics:

1)It contains 0.5% W/W chlorhexidine Acetate B.P.

2)Chlorhexidine Gauze Dressing acts as a soothing agent. The antibiotic / antiseptic in it helps in the healing process.

3)Interlocking gauze yarn threads, minimize when dressing is cut to shape.

4)Due to special type of butter paper loss of medicine after removal of butter paper is minimum.

5)Sterilized by gamma radiation

Applications:

1)On open wounds skin burns, and prior to any dressings

2)Chlorhexidine Gauze Dressing can be used for scalds, leg ulcers and on skin graft sites, plastic & cosmetic surgery
