WHAT IS IT?
Alginate Dressings with Silver are soft, comfortable wound dressings composed of silver-impregnated calcium alginate fibres.
WHEN DO I USE IT?
Alginate Dressings with Silver can be used for the management of wounds which are moderate and heavily exuding, including superficial or deep wounds, such as pressure sores, arterial ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers and post-operative wounds.
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Before applying the dressing, the wound area should be cleansed carefully using existing clinical protocols. The skin surrounding the wound should be clean and dry.
2. Choose an appropriate size of dressing to match the wound area. If necessary, fold or cut to adjust to wound size. For deep wounds use the Rope (2cm x 30cm). Pack lightly.
3. Apply dressing on the moist wound. For wounds with light exudation.
4. Secure the dressing with a suitable secondary dressing.
