A Framycetin Gauze Dressing is a sterile, lightweight paraffin gauze dressing impregnated with Framycetin Sulphate B.P. 1% (Soframycin).

Framycetin sulfate belongs to the aminoglycoside family of antibiotics-the same therapeutic class found in a Neomycin Sulphate Tulle Dressing. By creating a soft, soothing, and medicated barrier over the wound bed, it allows exudate to pass through to an absorbent secondary dressing while actively eradicating susceptible bacteria on contact.
