Calcium Alginate Dressing is an advanced moist wound dressing, composed with highly absorbent alginate fiber which is derived from seaweed, available in flat and rope pattern, indicated for the moderate to heavy exuding wounds, contains mannuronic acid and guluronic acid (50%-70% Mannuronic acid and 30%-50% Glucuronic acid.)
The dressing can absorb large amount of exudates.

These calcium alginate wound dressings are made of alginate fibres. When exudate from a wound comes in contact with the dressing, the sodium alginate present in the fibres absorbs the exudative fluid to form a soft gel. The soft gel is intended to create a moist wound environment at the wound surface to promote wound healing. Instructions for use

• Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently.
• Select the right size of dressing for the wound area. Carefully open the sterile pouch to remove the dressing inside.Calcium Sodium Alginate
• A secondary dressing is necessary when using calcium alginates. If needed, cut the tape and dressing using sterile scissors.
• Dampen dressing with sterile water or saline solution to avoid damaging the surrounding skin, then secure it to the wound area.
